Calypso

My favorite thing from today turns out to be my dog. (This could be how all my posts start, as she is one of the true loves of my life.) She is the most wonderful package of joy, encouragement, healing, love and sweetness. She teaches me daily how to be patient, how to be grateful, how to ask for what I want with clarity and grace, how to be genuinely thankful, how to be helpful in unexpected ways.

She is a healer for all those who come in contact with her - she is infinitely patient with children, men who get silly around dogs, people who think they don't like dogs, and me. She proves to me daily that it's all about a good attitude based solely on the present moment, and about greeting everyone with love, no matter age, race, gender. All that she requires is love given back to her. And actually, that's not true. She doesn't require that someone love her back. She offers her love, and if she finds it's not returned, she doesn't care. She loves anyway. Everyone. All day long.

And for that, I am forever grateful to one of my wisest and most profound teachers.
